Submit an Abstract

The sponsors of “Celebrating the SonoranDesert” invite abstract submissions of paper presentations and posters for the 2014 tri-national symposium. Abstracts will be accepted until October 15, 2013 (NEW DEADLINE)


  1. Paper presentations should be approximately 15 minutes long, plus five minutes for discussion and questions. Posters will be setup in the back of the main auditorium and left on display throughout the symposium. 
  2. Submit your proposal by completing the information requested on the abstract submission form, including a maximum 200-word abstract. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk (*).
  3. You will receive a confirmation e-mail as soon as your proposal is received. Authors will be notified by e-mail by Novemer 15, 2013 regarding the status of their submission.
  4. A computer, PowerPoint projector and screen will be available for all paper presentations. Please indicate any additional equipment or material needs you may have in the comment section of the abstract submission form.
  5. Registration is a completely separate process from the abstract submission process. At a later date you will be asked to register for the symposium and pay the appropriate fees. More information on registration will soon be available on the symposium web site. Cost for the whole symposium including field trips and most meals will be $150.
  6. Please e-mail the completed abstract submission form to Abstract receipt should be confirmed within a few days. If you do not receive a confirmation, please email again (or call 520-387-3229).
